Explosive Incident Rocks Suburb near Washington DC

A significant explosion has shattered a residence in an Arlington suburb near Washington DC during a police search, as confirmed by local authorities.

Prior to the detonation, shots were fired from within the Arlington house while officers attempted entry.

Earlier, law enforcement had responded to reports of flare gunshots originating from the same residence on Monday night.

Fortunately, officers at the scene reported only minor injuries, though it remains unclear whether the suspect sustained any harm or was apprehended.

Residents in the vicinity took to social media, sharing their experiences of their homes shaking due to the explosion.

Arlington County police, using their social media platform, disclosed, "While executing a search warrant, the suspect discharged multiple rounds within the residence, leading to an ensuing explosion. Investigations into the incident continue."

An online video captured what seemed to be a SWAT team vehicle approaching the residence moments before the blast.

Police have evacuated some residents and instructed others to shelter in place as a safety precaution.

Jim Mathews, an eyewitness, mentioned on social media before the explosion that he witnessed multiple flares being fired, each lasting 15-20 seconds, occurring within a short span of about 5 minutes.
